AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON THE IMPORTANCE OF INSURING MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FOR BENEFICIARIES OF MICRO-CREDITS.
Text size :In application of the recommendations of the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women Condition, concerning the importance of insuring the material and equipment, acquired within the framework of micro-activities and micro-projects created by promoters within the framework of the microcredit program, it was decided to launch an awareness campaign which aims to direct the beneficiaries of microcredits to insurance companies in order to insure their equipment, machinery and equipment, against all the risks that may affect their activities.
Mrs. Kaoutar Krikou, Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women Condition, accompanied by the President of the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, Mr. Youcef Benmicia, proceeded on September the 1st, 2021 , at the launch of this campaign which will be spread over a month, in the first phase, at the level of the communes of the Wilaya of Algiers, before being generalized on the whole of the national territory.
This awareness-raising campaign, carried out under the slogan "Insuring the equipment, protects and sustains your activity", aims to contribute to the establishment of a culture of insurance among the beneficiaries of micro-credits, to raise the awareness of the beneficiaries of the micro-credit program on the importance of insurance against risks, to compensate the beneficiaries for the damage that may result from the risks that may arise from the activities carried out and to ensure the sustainability of the micro-activities created within the framework of the micro-credit scheme. credit, thus covering the loans granted to the beneficiaries of micro-credits by the banks or by the agency.
This awareness campaign will be carried out by holding meetings and training sessions alongside field trips, as well as by setting up an electronic platform and other spaces for this purpose, while highlighting the experiences of entrepreneurs who have benefited from insurance and maintained the sustainability of their activities.
The President of the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies considered that this awareness campaign highlights the extent of the interest of the public authorities for the insurance sector and its development, underlining its desire to accompany the beneficiaries of micro-credits and to provide insurance services to this category of society and provide them with various information in this field.
In turn, the chief executive of the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit, Abdel-Fateh Djabnoun, confirmed in his presentation that the sector will support, through the agency's central and local services, in coordination with the public and private insurance companies, carrying out this campaign.
Finally, the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit and the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies have embarked on the preparation of a draft agreement to be concluded between them to define the mechanisms aimed at providing insurance for beneficiaries of microcredits.
