As part of the promotion of environmental initiative and foster innovation in green projects, the Family Center of Social Security of Ben Aknoun hosted a coordination meeting on environmental entrepreneurship on Monday, October 13, 2025, under the theme, “Training, Support and Guidance.”
The event was attended by the Minister of Environment and Quality of Life, Ms. Kaoutar KRIKOU, the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Mr. Noureddine OUADAH, the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Ms. ARHAB Nassima, the CEO of ANGEM, Ms. Souade BENDJEMIL, the Director of the National Conservatory for Environmental Training, executives from various ministries and public institutions, representatives of the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit, as well as students and project leaders.
During this meeting, the ministers underscored, in their speeches, the necessity of valuing and preserving environmental resources. They also emphasized the importance of promoting green entrepreneurship by supporting innovative projects and emerging small businesses within this sector.
They highlighted the crucial role of vocational training in supporting these developments, particularly through the introduction of new environmental specializations aimed at training a skilled workforce capable of effectively contributing to sustainable development.
For her part, the CEO of the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit delivered a speech highlighting the agency’s contribution in supporting green projects, giving a presentation on the project involving 1,000 micro-enterprises for the collection and recycling of plastic waste.
Additionally, she outlined the action plan as well as the various partnerships signed by the agency, especially in training, and mentioned the availability of tricycles for plastic waste collection in the local market, contributing to the implementation of environmental projects on the ground.
A film showcasing the financial and non-financial services provided by the agency was screened, followed by a small video on a success story involving plastic waste collection project and its positive impact on improving the citizens’ living conditions.
Later on, the ministers also presented certificates of participation to attendees of the training session organized by the National Conservatory for Environmental Training for ANGEM executives on “Environmental Legislation.” This initiative aims to strengthen institutional capacities in environmental protection.
Certificates of eligibility were also granted to seven project leaders in the field of waste collection and recycling.
The meeting concluded with the ministerial delegation’s visiting the exhibition set up for the occasion, dedicated to the beneficiaries of microcredit.
The members of the delegation also visited the institutional booths of both ANGEM and the National Conservatory for Environmental Training, where innovative projects in the fields of recycling, renewable energies, and waste recovery were showcased.
This meeting illustrates perfectly the commitment of the sectors involved to adopting a comprehensive approach combining training, support, and accompaniment, in order to strengthen the role of environmental entrepreneurship as a key driver of sustainable development and the transition to a green economy in Algeria.
