Ms. Souade Bendjemil, Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit, officially launched the national awareness caravan in Jijel under the theme: “1800 TAMKEEN Minutes to Empower Entrepreneurship for All.”
On the same occasion, she inaugurated the “ANGEM Summer on the Coast… Microcredit for Sustainable Tourism Promotion” initiative. Introduced as part of the TAMKEEN program, the initiative seeks to promote entrepreneurship while bringing ANGEM’s financial and support services closer to citizens across the country.
The launch ceremony was attended by Ms. Dalila Bendjoudi, representing the President of the Council of the Nation; Mr. Abdelhamid Boucherma, President of the Council of the Nation’s Committee on Culture, Information, Youth, and Tourism; the Secretary General of the wilaya of Jijel ; as well as representatives of local authorities, partner organizations and institutions, and ANGEM staff.
These two initiatives reflect ANGEM’s commitment to strengthening its field presence and expanding public awareness of its financial and non-financial services. By supporting project holders and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment, the Agency continues to contribute to the State’s efforts toward sustainable economic and social development.
The “ANGEM Summer on the Coast… Microcredit for Sustainable Tourism Promotion” initiative is designed to help microcredit beneficiaries take full advantage of the economic and tourism activity generated in Algeria’s coastal wilayas during the summer season. Dedicated exhibition and sales spaces enable entrepreneurs to promote and market their products and services, showcase local craftsmanship and expertise, and create new opportunities for economic growth. The initiative will be rolled out across all of the country’s coastal provinces.
The national caravan, “1800 Minutes TAMKEEN: Supporting Entrepreneurship for All,” the initiative will continue its nationwide tour across Algeria’s wilayas to foster closer engagement with citizens, raise awareness of the financing, training, and support services provided by ANGEM, and assist project holders in launching and developing their micro-enterprises.
In her address, Ms. Souade Bendjemil reaffirmed ANGEM’s commitment to community-based approach, built on listening, support, and responsiveness to citizens’ concerns. She stressed that the agency’s role extends beyond providing funding to include advice, training, monitoring, and technical assistance—all essential elements in ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of micro-enterprises.
Ms. Bendjemil also underscored the significance of the TAMKEEN program as a reflection of ANGEM’s strategy to broaden access to economic empowerment opportunities. This is achieved through enhanced awareness campaigns, expanded training initiatives, and a stronger presence in universities, vocational institutes, and training centers. The program seeks to promote entrepreneurial culture, particularly among young people and women, while encouraging them to make full use of the support mechanisms available to transform their ideas into viable businesses.
Through this initiative, the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit reaffirms its commitment to continuously strengthening and modernizing its support programs and financing mechanisms for project holders. By promoting local entrepreneurship, supporting the growth of micro-enterprises, and reinforcing microcredit as a catalyst for socio-economic inclusion, ANGEM aims to contribute to the development of a more diversified, resilient, and sustainable economy driven by innovation, initiative, and value creation.
