On Monday, November 18, 2024, Mr. Yassin El Mehdi Walid, the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises, inaugurated the Global Entrepreneurship Week. This event is scheduled to run from November 18 to 24, 2024, and was attended by various ministers, the CEO of the National Agency for the Management of Microcredit, and the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship Support and Development Agency, at the International Conference Center.
At the beginning of this of this meeting, the Minister presented the address of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune. In his speech, he emphasized that this event serves as a valuable opportunity to honor the entrepreneurial spirit and to foster creativity and innovation among our youth, who are actively participating in the efforts to establish a diversified, open, and sustainable economy in our nation.

A new strategy has been adopted that progressively moves away from the previously ineffective rent-seeking culture. This shift involves the reorganization of state systems tasked with supporting businesses and investments, particularly focusing on project leaders. Universities and training institutes play a crucial role in fostering entrepreneurship by offering diverse forms of support. This support is not confined solely to financial assistance; it also encompasses training initiatives aimed at ensuring successful and sustainable outcomes.
During this event, Ms. Souade Bendjemile, the Director General of the National Microcredit Management Agency, delivered a presentation regarding the agency. She highlighted the financial and non-financial services offered, the sectors supported by the microcredit system, and the agency’s objectives. Additionally, she announced the introduction of a new visual identity for the agency and showcased its accomplishments for the 2024 financial year, along with the ongoing projects being executed.
The minister, accompanied by the delegation, then visited the exhibition stands, and stopped at the institutional stand of ANGEM where explanations were provided to them on the services provided by the agency. At the end of this event, the Director General of ANGEM began the discussion with the promoters benefiting from the microcredit system present at this meeting and listened to their concerns.
